Description:
The HIMA F 6705 is a 2-fold digital-to-analog converter module designed for safety-related applications. It provides outputs of 0/4 ... 20 mA, which are individually galvanically isolated. The module features safety isolation and an integrated safety shutdown, and can operate in either source or sink mode. It meets requirement class AK 1 ... 6 and is automatically fully tested during operation.
Technical Specifications:
-
Outputs:
- Current Output: 0/4 ... 20 mA
- Resolution: 12 bits (4095 steps); 0 = 0 mA, 3840 = 20 mA
-
Burden (RB):
- Source Mode: ≤ 550 Ohm including line resistance to the burden
- Sink Mode: ≤ (UQ - 10 V) / 21.2 mA (UQ = source voltage)
-
Errors:
- Basic Error: ≤ 0.2% (40 µA) at 25 °C
- Operating Error: ≤ 0.4% at 0 ... +60 °C
- Line Length: Maximum 1000 m (consider burden)

- Basic Status with Plug-in: I ≤ 40 µA
- Source Voltage (UQ) for Sink Mode: 10 ... 30 V
- Space Requirement: 4 TE
-
Operating Data:
- 5 V DC: 85 mA
- 24 V DC: 130 mA
Additional Features:
-
Automatic Testing:
- Linearity of the DA-converter
- Cross-talk between the outputs
- Safety shutdown
-
Cable Specifications:
- Cable Type: LiYCY
- Dimensions: 8 x 0.5 mm², l = 120 mm, q = 2.5 mm²
- Channel Connection Color Coding: Specific colors assigned for each channel.
- Flat Pin Plug: 2.8 x 0.8 mm², 6.3 x 0.8 mm for the cable screen, to be connected to the earth bar under the slot.
-
Redundant Current Connection:
- Total current to the burden (RB) is the sum of individual currents.
- Admissible burden resistance is halved in redundant mode.
- Paralleled channels must operate in the same mode (source or sink).
- Each output channel should generate half of the total current to balance load and minimize temperature error.
-
Bipolar Current Connection:
- Supports output of currents between -20 mA to +20 mA.
- Total current is the sum of individual currents (IG1 = I11 - I21 or IG2 = I12 - I22).
- Positive and negative parts of the current are generated by different modules for accuracy.
Operational Notes:
- Unused channels must be terminated with a jumper to prevent module error messages.
- Ensure proper programming in the user’s program to manage the operation mode and current generation accurately.
