Description
The DI821 is an 8-channel digital input module designed for 230 V a.c./d.c. inputs in the S800 I/O system. It offers 8 digital inputs with an a.c. input voltage range of 164 to 264 V and an input current of 11 mA at 230 V a.c. For d.c. inputs, the range is 175 to 275 V with an input current of 1.6 mA at 220 V. Each input channel is individually isolated.
Every input channel features current limiting components, EMC protection components, input state indication LEDs, optical isolation barriers, and an analog filter (6 ms). Channel 1 can serve as a voltage supervision input for channels 2 to 4, while channel 8 can perform the same function for channels 5 to 7. In case the voltage connected to channel 1 or 8 disappears, the error inputs are activated, and the Warning LED turns on. The error signal can be accessed through the ModuleBus. This supervision can be enabled/disabled with a parameter. If the error inputs are disabled, channels 1 and 8 can function as normal input channels.
The input channels support digital filtering with selectable filter times of 2, 4, 8, and 16 ms, filtering out noise pulses shorter than the filter time while allowing pulses longer than 3, 6, 12, and 24 ms to pass through.
Five different types of MTUs can be utilized: TU831/TU851 Extended MTU, TU811 Compact MTU, and TU813 Compact MTU, each providing two terminals per channel. The TU839 Extended MTU offers two terminals per channel and one terminal for the outgoing sensor supply.
