Description

The Honeywell 10005/1/1 watchdog module monitors system parameters including:

  • Application Loop Monitoring:
    • Maximum Execution Time: Detects if the process is executing correctly and not looping (hang-up).
    • Minimum Execution Time: Detects if the processor is executing correctly and not skipping program parts.
  • Voltage Monitoring:
    • 5 Vdc: Monitors for overvoltage and undervoltage (5 Vdc ± 5 %).
  • Memory Error Logic: Monitors CPU, COM, and MEM modules. If a memory error occurs, the watchdog output is de-energized.
  • ESD Input: De-energizes the watchdog output independently from the processor. This input is 24 Vdc and galvanically isolated from the internal 5 Vdc.

Testing:

  • The WD module is a 2-out-of-3-voting system to test all functions. Each section monitors the parameters described above.
  • Maximum WDG OUT Output Current: 900 mA (fuse 1A) 5 Vdc.
    • If higher current is required (total of WD input currents of the output modules), use a watchdog repeater (WDR, 10302/1/1) and divide the load over the WD and the WDR.
