Introduction
The CI858 unit consists of a communication expansion base plate board (CEB), a communication expansion module board (CEM), and mechanics. All electronic devices and all functions are located on the CEM board. The CEM board connects via connector X1 to the CEB board, which in turn is connected to the CEX bus.

Communication between the CI858 and the AC 800M is implemented through the CEX bus. The CEX bus operates with a clock frequency of 64 MHz. The maximum transfer data is approximately 1.25 MBytes/s. -

DPRAM Communication
AC 800M and CI858 communicate with each other via dual-port RAM (DPRAM). The DPRAM has the following functionalities:

- One interrupt in each direction.
- Eight semaphores, which simplify the utilization of shared resources.
- ONCE port, which can be used for reprogramming the module.
