DI818 Digital Input Module
Description
The DI818 is a 32-channel, 24 V digital input module for the S800 I/O. It provides 32 digital inputs with an input voltage range of 18 to 30 volts DC and an input current of 4.3 mA at 24 V. The inputs are divided into two individually isolated groups, each containing 16 channels, with one voltage supervision input in each group.
Each input channel includes current limiting components, EMC protection components, an input state indication LED, and an optical isolation barrier. The process voltage supervision input generates channel error signals if the voltage disappears, which can be read via the ModuleBus.
The input channels support digital filtering with selectable filter times of 2, 4, 8, and 16 ms. Noise pulses shorter than the filter time are filtered out, while pulses longer than 3, 6, 12, and 24 ms pass through the filter.
The I/O signals are connected to the MTU with the process connector. Three different types of MTUs can be used: the extended MTU (TU830) and the compact MTU (TU818), which provide 1-wire connection to the sensors, and the compact MTU (TU819), which has two D-sub 25 pin connectors for interfacing with the process.
